Published on October 13th, 2016 by Gervais D.

I made a list of the best Burroughs Apps for Shin Megami Tensei IV during its era. Hunter Apps are the same as Burroughs Apps in Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, just with a name change. This page shares a collection of the best hunger apps for the game.

Best Hunter Apps in Shin Megami Tensei 4: Apocalypse

Skill Expansion (1-4) – adds another skill slot for your protagonist.

Demon Skill (1-4) – adds another skill slot for your demons.

Expand Stock (1-16) – adds a slot to your demon stock.

Level recovery apps :

  • Level Recovery – recovers some HP and MP when leveling up.
  • Level Heal – fully recovers HP and MP when leveling up.

Poison resistance apps :

If you don’t have the poison resistance accessory or wish to use another accessory in its place, the following apps will be extremely useful.

  • Anti-Poison 1 – decreases damage from poison pools and increases resistance to poison.
  • Anti-Poison 2 – take no damage from poison pools and max resistance to poison.

Skill Augment – skills have a chance at changing into better or worst skills.

Gift Augment – the quality of gifts you receive from your demons will be better.

Recruiting apps :

  • Scout Gift – recruited demons through the scout app will give you a gift.
  • Scout Bonus – recruited demons through the scout app will give you macca.
  • Scout+ – recruited demons through the scout app will recruit another lower-level demon during the battle.
  • Expert Scout – greatly decrease demons’ demands when using the scout app.
  • Threatening Aura – greatly decreases the difficulty of demon negotiations.
  • Demon Charmer – increases the chance of having a friendly conversation when using scout.

Summon Discount (1-4) – lowers the price of macca to pay to summon demons from the Demon Compendium (extremely useful for fusion).

Fusion Booster and the Fundraiser apps are also others to consider.

It is a wise idea to save app points for the most useful apps you find at the beginning of the game and max the ones you do not necessarily need later in the game (eg. expand stock or poison resistance apps when you find the poison swamps).
