Shinjuku is one of the first regions you will have to travel to in Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse after visiting Ginzo. If you’re unsure how to get to this area, this guide will help you travel their. Getting there in one piece depends on you (although it’s not a long distance).

After you wake up and talk to Asahi’s dad in the cutscene (assuming this is your first visit to Shinjuku, not counting the trip to Fairy Forest), use the terminal to transport yourself to Ueno. You should be in the Ueno’s station underground district.

Follow the red arrow in the screenshot below to get to the Central Way of Ueno :

Go to the top-right corner of the map to get to the next area then head to the exit to get to the Ueno region of the Tokyo map. A notice should appear informing you that a new area has been opened. This lets you now travel to Shinjuku.

Go down and make the first left turn you see to find a red bridge. Use it to get across. The bottom screen map should tell you that you’re in Ochanomizu as soon as you cross the bridge. After, go down and make another left. You should find another bridge. Cross it.

Keep going left until you can go up. You should see a poison swamp. Head into it and go left until you’re out of it. Keep going left until you can go down and you should see another poison swamp. Go through it or use the other path on its side to avoid getting poisoned. Keep going down until you see a right turning point and you should find Shinjuku.
