How To Get The Same Item Again in Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Published on July 8th, 2013 by Gervais D.

There may be an item that you traded with a friend over Wi-Fi that you want to obtain again. For example, a knight’s helmet or a ninja pants. Stores in Animal Crossing: New Leaf sell items randomly. You never know when that specific item will be available again, that’s why players normally purchases it right away. You might get lucky and see the same item available again, however, I’m not the type of person who enjoys waiting.

If you’re interested in collecting multiple of the same item without having to wait for a store to have it available, you should know that it is possible. No, there is no glitch that duplicates the item similar to Pokemon video games for the Nintendo DS (eg. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and the GTS cloning glitch). Instead, players can order the item once they have purchased it in the past, and have it delivered straight to their homes in the game.

How To Get The Same Item Again in Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Basically, you can obtain the same item again once you purchased it in the past by visiting the Nooklings store. There’s a catalog machine that gives you a list of the items that you purchased in the past during the game. Find the item that you wish to get again and order it. The item should be delivered as a present via mail the next day or after several hours, to your in-game house in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Note: The catalog machine is unlocked after Nookling Junction upgrades to T&T Mart.

Not all items can be obtained from the catalog machine :

Nintendo items that you receive from Tommy in exchange for a Fortune Cookie can not be ordered, sorry. There might be other items that are not available, however, clothes and accessories that you purchase from Able Sisters and Labelle’s next-door accessory shop are available to order, once you have purchased them in the past, of course.

Updated: List of item categories that are available from the catalog machine :

  • House items (not Nintendo items)
  • Wallpapers and rugs
  • Clothes and accessories
  • Paper
  • Music
  • Gyroids
  • Fossils

Tools such as the axe and the shovel can not be obtained from the catalog machine.
