How To Save Game In Tales Of The Abyss For 3DS

Published on June 4th, 2013 by Gervais D.

When I first played Tales of the Abyss on my Nintendo 3DS, the first question I asked myself was, “how to save game progress?”. I opened up the menu and scanned through the options, but I could not find anything to save my game.

If you encountered the same issue, don’t worry – nothing is wrong with your copy of the game. Yes, it is possible. Don’t go saying, “this game sucks”, just yet. This tutorial teaches you how to save your game progress in Tales of the Abyss for 3DS.

You might already be aware of those circles on the ground that allows you to save your game progress. If that was the only option of saving your game’s progress, that would have surely sucked, in my opinion. Lucky, the game allows you to save your game mostly anywhere after a certain point of the gameplay.

I might be off the spot a little, but I think you gain the ability to save your game progress early in the game after Luke shows off his journal. After obtaining this journal, you will be able to save your game progress anywhere in the open world where monsters are displayed.

That means if you enter a city (eg. no monsters, just people who you can talk to), you will not see the ‘save game’ option. Then again, most cites in the game include an Inn with one of those game saving circles – so it’s not really a big deal.

To save the game (buttons are default) :

  1. Open the in-game menu by pressing ‘X‘.
  2. Scroll down to System and press ‘A‘.
  3. You will see the following options; Save, Load, Config, Records. Select ‘Save’.
  4. Select one of the four slots and save the game.
