New Nintendo Direct to be held on June 11th

Just a few hours ago I had a visit from Iwata’s Mii in my 3DS telling me the news. Most likely you will be getting his visit too, if you haven’t already.

The upcoming Nintendo Direct is going to be a global presentation that will start on Tuesday at 7:00 am for USA, 3:00 pm UK and 11:00 pm Japan. These times are in GMT.

Though Nintendo said they will still be present at E3, it is clear their biggest guns will most likely be released in its own global presentation. Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo of America, said the following regarding the decision to hold its own presentation:

“We’re always looking for new ways to surprise and delight. We’ll still be at E3 revealing new information about upcoming games and those of you at home will still be receiving the same stream of content and updates from the show as you always have, but it will be different and it will be better.”

There is definitely something big and special planned for the occasion and I can hardly wait for next week to start because it ought to be full of surprises. As a reminder, here’s a tweet Nintendo of America made a few weeks ago:

Even if the next Direct will be aimed at Wii U titles, the fact that Nintendo decided to alert us through the 3DS may hint that there may be something in for us, 3DS owners. Check back next week and we’ll tell you everything about it.
