The Letter Review Update (Wii U eShop)

This is a review update for the game The Letter.
You can see the original review here.

CHANGES:
One of the main flaws in the game was its duration where it’s one of the main objectives of The Letter’s updates (this one and the upcoming ones). Both maps are now slightly larger, there are more hidden letters, and three more items to find, raising the game’s duration a little.

The developer also added a hidden room after you finish the game which is unlocked when you find the four secret clips. Still, its duration is really short (no more than five minutes if you don’t know the locations of the items, 30 seconds if you do).

A small save feature is now available which is useful for those who are playing the game for the first time. It only works when you finish the map objective though. The Off-TV is still missing, and the major flaw the screen had is still present, so I hope this will be fixed in an upcoming update.

Graphically, there are minor changes but not all of them are positive. The game’s performance has been improved where there is no lag at all, and both the title and the loading screen got a background. A little detail added is a battery icon (for the lantern), however, it doesn’t affect the gameplay at all.

It looks like it had a price, for now at least. The shadow distance is pretty short, the grass only appears at the bottom of the screen and the texture’s quality at a small distance looks ugly when you’re close to the mountains.

CONCLUSION:
There are a few changes that are appreciated, including a longer map, more stuff to find, better performance and a save feature. Still, the Off-TV mode is lacking. The experience is sightly better, however, it still needs a lot of work.
